Products / Talking Heads - More Songs About Buildings and Food
(New Wave) This record marked the first of three Talking Heads albums produced by the legendary Brian Eno. The music it features is most notable for being more dancey, which is the result of the rhythm section really being pushed to the fore. This approach helped emphasise David Byrne's unusual vocal delivery. Pitchfork describes the record as transforming the band from a "quirky CBGB spectacle to a quirky near-unanimously regarded 'it' band." Whatever it is, it's unrelentingly engaging as a piece of work. Highlight track: 'Take Me to the River'.
